I am an ex Sergeant having been invalided about on month ago with V.D.H (slight). I am 46 years of age and am otherwise in good condition. I have good character on discharge. I speak French, German, Italian, some Flemish and Spanish and as I passed through the Docks a few days ago coming from the Channel islands I notice that the soldiers directing the passengers, French and British, could not make themselves understood in French. I should be extremely pleased if my services would be of any use to the country in the manner. Apologising for this. liberty I am taking, and awaiting your kind favour. A further letter dated 5/1/17 from Military Police Record Office requesting his medical discharge as he could not do any duty and is constantly complaining of faintness. He never left the Depot.
