MBE Citation: Entirely through the initiative of this WO a gang of thieves in Cairo Area, comprising eleven deserters from the army, were tracked down, rounded up and arrested by him single handed. He has also been responsible on several other occasions for breaking up and bringing to Court Martial and conviction gangs of jewel thieves and smash and grab crooks. Large quantities of stolen government property have been recovered as a result of his zeal and initiative. I strongly recommend that the long hours of work and the outstanding services of this WO over the last 18 months should be recognised by the award of the MBE. F. C.
