Extract from the Hendon & Finchley Times 13 June 1924. FINCHELY PC'S FINE RECORD. At Church End Police Station on Wednesday, Superintendent Hammett presented ex- PC. J Caudle with a gold watch and albert as a recognition from his colleagues of 25 years' service in the Force. Mr. Caudle joined the police on March 13th 1899, and was posted to "N" Division. He was called to the colours in June, 1900, and served for three years in the South African War, and on rejoining the service in 1911 was posted to "S" Division. On October 22nd, 1914 he volunteered for service with the Forces, and spent three and a half years during the was as Sergt. instructor and in the Military Mounted Police He retired on pension from the Police Force on March 21st this year. |
