Ernest Cooper. Extract from the Mid Sussex Times 2 January 1917. IN HOSPITAL - Mrs. Cooper, of 2 Somerset Cottages, has received information that her husband, Lance Corporal Ernest Cooper, of the Military Foot Police, is now lying seriously ill in hospital at Woking, after being about eight months in France. Lance Corporal Cooper, who was a postman when he joined up for the present war, served in the South African Campaign and was invalided out of the service with two medals and eight bars to his credit. Extract from the Sussex Agricultural Express, 16/8/18. LINDFIELD, DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMY. Mr E Cooper, who was a lance corporal in the Military Foot Police has been granted his discharge from the Army, for reasons of health. He was a postman in Lindfield prior to voluntarily joining up in 1914. For eighteen months he served in France. |
