Sailor returns Stirling lady's picture. Mrs Hart, Parkgate, Stirling has just had a picture of herself which she gave to her husband Sgt W B Hart, Corps of Military Police returned to her under unusual circumstances. The photograph and an accompanying letter enclosed in a leather wallet was accidentally dropped in a British naval craft in Italy by Mrs Hart's husband and discovered and this is where the long arm of coincidence comes in - by Stoker John McCormack, Royal Navy, of 70 Drip Road, Stirling. As both the letters bore the address "Parkgate, Stirling"and the photograph was signed Marjorie, McCormack sent the photograph to us with the request that we find the owner, which we had no difficulty in doing. Mrs Hart was delighted to receive the photograph when she called at the "Observer" office in response to our telephone message. She mentioned that her husband is a Liverpool man and has been in Italy since it was invaded. It seems likely that he lost the Wallet whilst on board ship and it has now only come to light, possibly having been concealed in some inaccessible part of the ship's fittings. Mrs Hart is extremely grateful to Stoker McCormack to whom she intends to write personally, expressing her thanks. Mrs Hart is the daughter of Mr & Mrs James Mitchell of Parkgate, Stirling.
