Citation for MID: Sgt Crawford joined the Divisional Provost Coy at a time when efforts were being made to reorganise it, and during the past five months and particularly during the period under review his examples were an inspiration to all other junior ranks. He has persistently and without regard for his personal welfare worked long and tiring hours, and has continually worked hard under most adverse circumstances. His leadership has been a tonic, and his cheerfulness under occasional enemy shell fire a shining example. He has been particularly painstaking with Indian troops of whom he had little previous knowledge. This NCO is a great junior leader.Recommended for BEM, awarded MID.Maj APM 10 Indian Div.
