Citation: No. 2688770 Warrant Officer I Walter Glasby, Corps of Military Police (Preston).North West Europe. Citation for MBE: The above named Warrant Officer has over 25 years to count, of which he served 22 1/2 years with the Corps of Military Police. Most of his war service has been with 59 Infantry Division. The work of his Company, prior to, and during the Normandy campaign elicited the highest praise from the Divisional Commander and other high ranking officers, and the Company's successful efforts were largely due to the splendid organising ability, initiative and drive of RSM Glasby. This Warrant Officer has indeed, at all times maintained the highest possible standard of loyalty and devotion to duty, and his skill and knowledge have been of inestimable value both to his superiors and to those who have served under his command. It is not soo much to say that RSM Glasby has created a standard of military conduct and ability of the highest order, and one of which the Corps may well be proud.
