Notes:MFP. Freemans Journal, 15/11/1898. Presentation to Sergeant Tyrer, Military Foot Police. Sergeant Tyrer, of the Military Foot Police who has been transferred to Belfast, was last evening entertained by the Sergeants and Constables of the D MP (Dublin Metropolitan Police), Castle Barracks and was presented with a handsome watch and chain. The Sergeant has been stationed in Dublin for the past four years, and during that time made a host of friends. Sergeant Caddan, of the Castle Barracks, made the presentation and briefly alluded to the pleasant comradeship spent with Sergeant Tyrer. The latter suitably responded and a very pleasant and enjoyable evening was spent.
