He is named in an advert for a silver pocket watch costing 60/- available from J G Graves, Dept. Division Street, Sheffield. On Lord Roberts' Staff. Sir, The "Express" English lever watch I bought about 12months ago I have had with me throughout the campaign, I have been with Lord Roberts' Staff from Modder River to Pretoria and although the glass has been broken it has kept correct time. I consider it has stood one of the most trying tests a watch could undergo. (To see advert look at "It Pays to Advertise." |
