| Citation: | On the morning of 16th October, 1951 L/Cpl Head was on duty in Ismailia during the civil disturbances in that town. He stationed himself in the NAAFI Families' Shop in which a number of British women and children were situated when the disturbances broke out. Throughout the incident, with commendable resolution and resource, L/Cpl Head protected these families from violence at the hands of the mob. General Officer Commanding the British Troops in Egypt wishes to place on record his appreciation of the courageous conduct of this NCO. |
