At all Saints' Church on Saturday Miss Kathleen Joyce Knight, daughter of Mr and Mrs F C Knight of 1 Wykeham Villas, Oxney Green, was married to Mr. Louis Frederick Blanks, Essex Regt. only son of Mr and Mrs Frederick Blanks of 11 Rollestone Road, Writtle, the Bridegroom is a well known local cricketer, and has notable performances to his credit with bat and ball particularly the latter. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a green floral dress, with brown accessories and carried a bouquet of yellow tulips and fern. Mr John Bright her brother, was best man. A reception was held by the bride's parents at their home , The presents included a cheque to the bride from her colleagues of the Fractional Department at Crompton Parkinson's.
