Two letters found in his army record read: 15/7/1915. Ref No. 7173 Pte A Lowe. This man wishes his allotment of Separation allowance to be transferred from his wife Charlotte now residing at 32 Castleton Street, off King's Meadow Road, Nottingham to Mrs A M White, 25 Kimbottom Avenue, Lenton Lands, Nottingham who will distribute the allotment between the people having charge of Pte. Lowe's children, Mrs White is Pte Lowe's sister. The NSPCC have taken action against Mrs Lowe for immorality etc and have taken the children out of her custody, and placed them in two houses under the supervision of Mrs White. The NSPCC will write to you on the matter. Trusting this will receive your attention. Also a letter dated 19/7/1915 from War Office to Officer I/C Records, Litchfield. Please not that no future issue os Separation Allowance Will be made to the wife of no. 7173 Pte C Lowe, Notts & derby Regiment in consequence of her immoral conduct. Motherless rate will in future be issued for three children to Ms. West, 20 Thoroton Terrace, Thoroton Street Nottingham, and for two children to Mrs, Warriner, 4 Thornton Terrace, on the children's behalf, so long as they remain in their care.
