J Foster, MFP states: At Dublin, on the 16th February, 1917, at about 11pm, I was on duty in Dame Street, accompanied by Cpl Smith, MFP. I saw the accused Warrant Officer. He was drunk. I handed him over to the Sergeant in charge of the Picquet and ordered him to conduct hi to the Guard Detention Room, Ship Street, where he was handed over to the Sergeant in charge and detained. When I arrested the accused he handed a bottle of whisky - produced to Cpl. Smith, (P/2406) saying "This will square it, Corporal, won't it. Drink our health, or words to that effect.
