Served Home 17/8/1892 to 12/12/1899, South Africa 13/12/1899 to 4/5/1900, Home 5/5/1900 to 5/7/1902. 5/2/1900 he was wounded at Potgieters Drift. 5/7/1902 to Army Reserve. 16/9/1916 transferred to Northumberland Fusiliers, 27/1/1917 transferred to Lincolnshire Regiment, 4/5/1917 transferred to Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, 8/8/1917 transferred to MFP, 26/6/1919 transferred to Z reserve. Wife Rose lived at 31 Cook Street, Dublin. A Declaration in his army record dated 28/2/1896 stating he enlisted as John Cunningham but his real name is Bernard Mulready. He re enlisted 30/8/1908 in the Dublin City RFA TF No. 3309, occupation Corn Porter, 27/8/1917 discharged. 15/5/1904 he married Sarah McGrath at Marlborough Street Chapel, they had 2 children.
Found in other documents: Summary of Evidence in the case of No. 13808 Pte John William McKenzie, 3 Reserve Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. 2nd Witness. No. 11975 L/Cpl Bernard Mulready, MFP states "At West Hartlepool on the 16th of August 1918, about 10.30am I was on duty on the Railway Station in company with 261753 Pte T E Mill att. MFP, when I saw the accused No. 13808 Pte John McKenzie, 3rd Yorkshire Regiment. I asked him for his pass - he then admitted being and absentee - I arrested him and conducted him to the Detention Guard Room of the 3rd Res, Bn. Yorkshire Regiment and handed him over to the NCO i/c. to be detained." The accused declines to cross examine this witness. 29/5/1919 shown as awarded £2 on the Prees Heath Demobilization Acquittance Roll.

Also Mulready, Bernard, DEAD 13/11/1923, MFP, 1975, Lincolnshire Regiment, Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, York & Lancaster Regiment, 26/6/1919, 34 Parnell Street, Dublin, 13/!PP/115, 5/3/1926, Stamp: Ad 4/6/1919, at 5/6d from 27/6/1919 until further notice, Chelsea No. Z/Misc, 1996, received 16/6/1919. A form giving his name, address, unit and No. and rank is dated 23/9/1932 with another Ministry of Pensions request for pathological and or radiological examination gives his name and age 69 years, disability GSW left shoulder - 6/4/1900, small scar back of left shoulder. Stamped Leopardstown Park Hospital, Ministry of Pensions 23/8/1944 but in other documents he died 13/11/1923?
