| Citation: | Italy. MBE citation: RSM McEvoy has been a member of 1 Armoured Divisional Provost Coy for six years during which time much of the credit for the efficency of the unit both in battle and since the cessation of hosilities has been his. His patience and understanding of the young NCO has been of the highest standard and his fairness in dealing with offending soldiers of the Division no less than his courteous handling of officers, has been an outstandihg example to all. Under the direction of the writer this Warrant Officer has organised raids on premises occupied by dealers in Black Market goods, he has supervised the acitivities of the Allied Anti-Vice branch with marked results, and has led a number of searches for unlawfully held firearms. Latterly in the city of Trieste he has earned universal respect from civilian and soldier alike by his tact and guidance in dealing with delicate situations of a political nature, and has, by so doing, done much to assist the Division in maintaining law and order in a troubled part of the world..
