Citation: Awarded as 14337552 Cpl Roy William Thomas Love, 7 Somerset Light Infantry. North West Europe.Citation: 7 Somerset Light Infantry, 43 Wessex Division, 30 Corps. On 9 Aug 44, in the attack on Hau AU RoI 8342, Cpl. LOVE's section was leading his platoon when the Coy came under heavy machine gun fire. The Platoon Comd. was wounded. Cpl LOVE attended to his wounds, arranged for fire support from a tank and the led his section up a hedge row in which the enemy were. Throughout he showed marked coolness and daring and contributed in no small way to the elimination of the enemy.Recommended by: Lt/Col. J W Nicol CO 7 Somerset Light Infantry.
