Citation: Citation: Place West Bromwich, period 1974-1983. Unit CQMS.S/Sgt Ramsey, who has previously seen regular army service with the Royal Irish Fusiliers during the period 1960-1963, has served with the Territorial Army since 2965. On the reduction of the units PSI establishment in 1974 he assumed the appointment of CQMS, duties which ha has continued to implement to date. Due to the wide geographical spread of the unit, the inadequate establishment of PSI's and the recent receipt of the units PUE from BAOR S/Sgt Ramsey has been committed, on a regular basis, to an average of thee working days per week in order to implement his unit responsibilities. This he has undertaken willingly and to the know detriment of his civilian occupation and domestic life. he performs his duties in an energetic and professional manner with a high degree of dedication born out of his loyalty to the service. His unstinting appetite and total involvement in his duties has resulted in a radical improvement in the operational readiness of the unit, and in the awareness of good administration for peace, an influence which has been brought to bear on his regular and territorial army colleagues alike. In addition to his major responsibility he has become a well known and respected figure within Western district at functions in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund for which ha has assumed command of the special police duties. His loyalty and devotion to his duties are legendary within the Corps setting the highest standards of service and self sacrifice to his colleagues, displaying very fully those qualities associated with voluntary service.Recommended by Maj R M Brumhill, MBE, TD, JP, RMP (V) OC 116 Pro Coy (V) and GOC Western District.
