Harry Anderson Vass.

Extract from the Hull Daily Mail - Saturday 12 July 1947. NO WITNESSES OF ROAD CRASH.
We shall never know how it happened and why it happened. This comment was made by the East Riding Coroner Mr Thomas Holdby at the conclusion of the evidence on a fatal accident at Driffield on a 20 year old army motor cyclist trainee who was involved in a fatal accident at Chestnut House Corner, on the outskirts of Driffield.
The Inquest was held on Harry Anderson Vass a soldier stationed at Scarborough whose home was in Elgin, Scotland. Vass's motor cycle was found lying near a telegraph pole on the road to Wansford but there was nothing to indicate that he had stuck it or how he sustained a fracture to the base of his skull.
A verdict of accidental death was returned.
