Citation: Belgium. Citation for Belgian Croix de Guerre 1940 with Palm: From France onwards this NCO was in charge of a section which was always well to the fore. At all times he has carried out the tasks alloted to him with the utmost zeal and efficiency and without regard for his personal safety. His was the first section of this Company at the crossing of the Seine, and from then onwards he was invariably up with the forward troops signing the Wyvern Route, often under hard and trying conditions. During this period he was a source of inspiration to the men under him, and contributed his full share to the eventual liberation of Belgium.Capt A R Kendrick Comd 43 Div Pro Coy.
