Info from the Police Review, 12/4/1918, page 116: Official information came to hand last week announcing that PC George James Morris had died from wounds in France. It appears that he was on Mounted Police duty on the Messines-Ypres road on March 21st, and must have seen something of the great battle which is still in progress. He joined the force at the special request of the authorities, being a Constable of eight years experience and used to directing and controlling of traffic. He leaves a widow with two young children.
