Formerly Pte. 8 Queen's Regt. No. G/2359. He was drowned at sea when the Royal Mail Ship Leinster bound for Holyhead from Kingstown with 680 passenger was sunk by the German U boat U 123. It sank in eight minutes with the loss of 501 lives. Transferred to MMP (shown as MFP on medal card) 30/3/17 from the 8 Yeomanry Cyclist Brigade and served in the 3 Cyclist Brigade.
