Citation: No. 9429.Pte. Sherwood, F. 2 Dorset Regt. For conspicuous gallantry near Ahwaz (Turkey in Asia) on 3rd March 2925, when he rendered valuable service at a critical stage of rallying parties of Indian Infantry who were being hard pressed by superior numbers of the enemy. Private Sherwood assisted in rescuing wounded on several occasions during action.
