He was born and resided in Gravesend and enlisted in Dover. He was born in Southend, enlisted 2/1/13, occupation labourer. 3/4/1915 his father William Grey Dadds received the sum of £9-05-09, 5/8/1915 he received a further 14-10d, 20/9/1919 he received £5 war gratuity. Died drowned. No inscription on Gravestone.

The Postmaster General has issued a memorandum stating that he has learnt with deep regret that certain officers of the Post Office including W G Dadds, postman, Gravesend (Military Foot Police) and W Holding, postman, Tunbridge Wells (Royal West Kent Regiment) have lost their lives in the service of their country whilst serving with the forces of His Majesty.
