The late Lance Corporal E Vickery.
Military honours were accorded the funeral at Norwich Cemetery on Saturday of L/Cpl Edward Vickery, CMP, age 28, of 26 Greenall Road, Northwich who was killed on active service at Newcastle upon Tyne. Before joining the fores he was employed at ICI (Alkali) Ltd, Northwich and leaves a wife who lives at Bristol. The services at the house and cemetery were conducted by the Rev. R W Maitland Wood and the mourners were Mrs E Vickery (Widow), Mrs M A Vickery (Mother), Mr & Mrs R Bowers ( Aunt & Uncle), Mr E Bowers (Cousin), Mr S H Wiliamson , Mrs C Slade, Mr T Goldbourne,& Miss M Goldbourne, the Bearers under Sgt Noble included L/Cpl's Mansell, Cockerell, Mongers, Skelton and Bradley. Also present were a officer Sgt. Bradley and two comrades from Newcastle upon Tyne.
Wreaths were from His loving wife, Win. To my dear son, Loving Mother. (article gives a further list of mourners and members of his unit 15 Scottish Div Pro Coy, CMP. Article has a small picture of L/Cpl Vickery in uniform.)
