D J Mileham patrolling tripped on an iron hand-grip, wearing greatcoat etc and sten-gun slung across his back, he fell into a lock and was trapped in mud. Body finally retrieved 08.00 hrs. Non swimmer, no evidence of foul play. 8/2/45 Buried at La Deliverande Cemetery. 8/2/45 Capt Pittman president of court of inquiry into the death of Pte Mileham.
