Soldier Killed Near Derry.
The Inquest Verdict.
An inguest was held yesterday by D M F Leslie, coroner for the Londonderry Liberties,into the death of Lance Corporal Albert Mountfield, a military policeman, who was killed while motorcycling on the Londonderry-Limavady Road on Tuesday.
It was stated deceased was thrown off his balance and came into collision with a lorry, underneath which he fell.
A verdict of accidental death was returned and the driver of the lorry exonerated.
The Coroner and Head-Constable Gondy, R.U.C expressed sympathy with the deceased relatives.
Mountfield was a native of the Lancaster district.

Derry Road Fatality.
Military Cyclist Killed Avoiding Pedestrian.
Falling beneath a passing lorry when his motorcycle skidded to avoid colliding with a pedestrian, on the main Derry-Limavady road yesterday. L/Cpl Albert Mountfield, aged 30, a military policeman, received injuries to which he succumbed in a short time.
It was thought that the rear wheel of the lorry passed over him.
An inquest was held today.
