Military Policeman Killed at Wrotham. Lance Corporal J L Gladding, of the Corps of Military Police, was fatally injured on Friday when his motorcycle collided with a keep left pylon on the Maidstone - Sevenoaks road at Wrotham. Lance Corporal Gladding was the fourth in line of a section of motorcyclists which turned into the road from the main road, and the only explanation for the accident which was advanced at the inquest at Maidstone on Monday was given by Sgt J Rowe, the section leader, who said "the only thing I can possibly think of is that something went wrong with the machine." The Coroner Mr C P Whitehead, returning a verdict of "Accidental Death," said that although it was obvious that a third party could be responsible, the evidence threw no light on shy he failed to avoid the pylon. |
