Formerly Ox & Bucks Light Infantry transferred to MPSC. 21 Area Pro Coy War Diary, WO 169/15937. 11/11/44 telephone message fro SIB, a truck with 10 soldiers and 2 ATS washed away at Wadi Gaza. Casualties unknown. 14/11/44 SIB advise body washed up at Gaza Lido, believed to be that of S/Sgt McGeachi, 57 MPDB. 16/11/44 telephone message from SIB, body of S/Sgt Drew C found on Gaza Beach and taken to 91 General Hospital. Sgt Cornish is not mentioned but died on the same day as McGeachi and Drew. Inscription on gravestone: Till we meet again peace perfect peace.
