Also of Gordon son of above died January 2 1973. Frank Kier Alderson. Extract from Local Newspaper:- HOMEBRIDGE MILITARY POLICEMAN'S DEATH. Lance Corporal F K Alderson. Mrs F K Alderson of 233 Wood head Road, Holmebridge has received information that her husband L/cpl Frank Kier Alderson of the Military Police, has collapsed and died. Lance Corporal Alderson who was thirty years of age, was well known in the Holmebridge district. He was the second son of Mr and Mrs J Alderson of Holme Bank, Holmebridge and Mrs J Alderson is the owner of the Holmebridge Cafe. A native of Holmebridge L/Cpl Alderson attended Hinchcliff Mill Council School. Before joining the Forces he worked as a piecener at Stoney Bank Mills. He was a member of the Holmebridge Parish Church Institute. He has two brothers both serving in the Forces and another served in Norway, but has since been discharged. The internment will take place at Holmebridge Parish Church on Saturday afternoon. In addition to his wife, the deceased leaves two children. |
