Citation: Italy. Citation for BEM: For outstanding example and devotion to duty as RSM of the Provost Company, during the period 1st Jan to 31st Mar 45. This WO throughout the period, has done exceedingly good work. He has put in exceptionally long hours often under the most severe winter conditions and over the worst possible country from the point of view of communications. It is in a large measure due to his constant cheerfulness, example and almost continual work that the roads were kept clear and vital transport reached its destination in the hills. In addition he has been largely responsible for the complete re-organisation of the Provost Coy during the period. His example has at all times been a source of inspiration to those under him.
