War Diary 10 Company (TC), WO 169/13243m Daily Part I Orders by Capt W S H Betts, RNF, Commanding. Translation from Italian Newspaper. Brilliant Action By C. M. Police. On the 1 October 1943 and armed gang rushed into the villa Commenator Vinici of Cercola, Naples, threatening members of his family with pistols and plundered the house. They also repeated this at other houses in the vicinity.
The Commandant of the Military Police was informed and immediately action was taken to round up the gang.
On the night of 16 oct 1943 RSM Leaney H J, C. M. Police with confidence and boldness, after obtaining the addresses of the gang from the Maresciallof of Cercola, arrested the larger part of the gang, who are no detained in the jail of Pomfiocale awaiting trial. Mozzia Salvatore of Cercola who is attached to C. M. Police as interpreter, was present during the raid.
