Citation: Italy. Citation for award on US Bronze Star: No:1652978 War Substansive Corporal (then W/S Corporal) OGDEN E. R, Provost Company, 1st (Br) Infantry Division. For Meritorious Achivement in support of Military Operations against the enemy during the period 1st September , 1944 to 1st December 1944. Corporal Ogden was a senior member of No:3 Section of the Provost Company which consistently worked as the forward section of the Company. At MARRADI, under continuous shellfire, and many other times under shellfire, Corporal Ogden proved himself to be a consistently reliable and hard working NCO, carrying out his Superiors Orders with great efficiency and commendability. Frequently allotting himself unpleasant tasks and working under adverse conditions of weather and shellfire, Cpl Ogden set a standard of discipline, hard work, and cheerfulness which earned the admiration of all who served under him.
