During the period 1 Feb 45 to 30 Apr, 45 he has been an example to both the staff and soldiers under sentence by his outstanding and ceaseless devotion to duty. North West Europe.Citation: WOI (RSM) DAVIES, has been with No 3 Military Prison & Detention Barracks since August 1944.During the whole of this period he has earned and unfailingly held, the loyalty and support of the Unit Staff by his personal example of rigid discipline coupled with scrupulous fairness shown at all times. Moreover, the qualities of RSM Davies were also acknowledged by the majority of the soldiers under sentence who respected rather than feared him. His advice and guidance given, particularly to many men who found themselves in Detention for the first time in their Army careers, and his ability to differentiate between various types and characters has contributed in a very large measure towards the soldiers under sentence, earning a suspension of Sentence in the shortest possible time and his consequent rehabilitation to a more usefull role in operational and service Units.This valuable service has resulted from RSM Davies' unflagging zeal and outstanding devotion to duty.
