Citation: | Greece. Citation for BEM: The above named NCO has been attached to HQ 3 Corps, now HQ Land Forces and Military Liaison, GREECE, and under my direct command for five months, during which time he has performed his duty with outstanding zeal and ability. On arrival in GREECE, he took charge of Security at the entrance of HQ building, together with the task of handling surrendered enemy PW and repatriates, on his own inititative at all times of the day and night. He voluntarily investigated and conducted searches for enemy personnel known to be in the area, a task in many cases known to be dangerous, and was responsible for many arrests. When hostilities were declared against the rebels, his duties became increasingly arduous. On the 10th Dec 1944 he was wounded by shell splinters, but continued with his duty without complaint. By his efficiency, cheerfulness and devotion to duty, he has been an outstandign example to all with whom he has been in contact.Capt DAMP LF & ML (G). Brig Da & QMG HQ LF & MLG.
