Sergeant Major Gale, who has risen from private in the West Riding Regiment to Warrant Officer in the Military Foot police, has been selected for a commission as lieutenant and Assistant Provost Marshal in Ireland. Major A W Gale, Assistant Provost Marshal at Aldershot, who has gone on half-pay, having reached the age limit of 56, was one of the original members of the Corps of Military Police which was formed in 1886.
