Citation for BEM: Has shown marked initiative, tact and devotion to duty in the carrying out ot his many and varied duties as an NCO of 101st Provost Company since the arrival of the BEF in France in September 1939. He has been untiring in his energy and has been most conspicuous in the way in which he has never spared himself in order to carry out his duty. Amongst the special duties he has performed conspicuously were those in connection with the visit of HM the King and that of the President of the French Republic. His conduct at all times and under all conditions has been most praiseworthy and he has set a very fine example to those under him.No. shown as 2876796 in London Gazette.Awarded the British Empire Medal.
