Citation: North West Europe. Citation for BEM; Sgt KENNEDY has been with the Highland Divisional Provost Company since September 1939 and served in France, North Africa and Sicily before coming to the present theatre. He has shown himself to be in all circumstances an extremely capable, intelligent and consicentious NCO possessed of the high ideals of the Provost service and anxious that his work should at all times be of the maximum assistance to the fighting troops. The long moves of the Division in the presenet winter through Holland and Belgium and the trying weather conditions experienced in the ARDENNES have tested his powers to the full and have proved that he is more than equal to all contingencies. His work involves frequent reconnaissance in forward areas coupled with long spells of duty by day and night in all sorts of conditions, and he is never satisfied until in the sector for which he is responsible all routes are more than adequately signed and columns delivered to their destinations. The manner in which he continuously carries out work beyond what duty demands and his contant cheerfulness and confidnece are an example to all. Capt DAPM 51 (H) Div Pro Coy.
