Lance Corporal Chas. Saunders of the Military Foot Police, was wounded in the leg in France, on 4th July, by shrapnel and eight days alter he was gassed, and is now in hospital in Aberdeen. He was a reservist and was called up at the outbreak of hostilities, and has been for two years at the front. This morning his wife, Mrs Saunders, confectioner, 4 Howgate, received a letter from him, in which he states that he is progressing favourably, and that he considers himself extremely lucky to have go off so likely.
