LOWICK MAN'S SERVICE. Pte R Ferrow, whose home is at West End, Lowick, has now had eight years of Army service, four of which were in the Great War, when he served with the 7 Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. For three years of his time he was in France and took part in many of the big engagements, such as Ypres, Somme, and Arras. on November 17, 1939 he joined up for home defence and served for a year and a half with the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. he was transferred to the Corps of Military Police and is now stationed somewhere in England. His eldest son is serving in Palestine with the RAVC and has been two years abroad. Another son is a member of the Home Guard.
