Acts of Courage Extracted From Corps Order Book 21, page 77, 5/9/16.LANCE CORPORAL J CANNON3 OX & BUCKS LIGHT INFANTRYATTACHED MILITARY FOOT POLICEThe following act of gallantry is reported: On August 15th 1916 whilst on duty near the Rue de L'Union L/Cpl J Cannon, 3rd Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry attached as Military Foot Police, endeavoured to stop a runaway horse which was travelling at great speed. The NCO was thrown to the ground, dragged a considerable distance and succeeded in bringing the horse practically to a standstill.
