Citation: Extract from 2 Army Routine Order No 1266 Gallant Conduct. The Army Commander wishes to express his appreciation of the gallant conduct of No. P/5312 L/Cpl Harding I. MFP On 12th October 1917 in the square of a town, seeing that a team of mules, startled by a bursting shell had bolted, showed considerable courage and presence of mind in successfully stopping them, thereby preventing a serious accident.
