Citation: Italy. Citation for MID: This N.C.O., joined the 182 Company (Ports) on 30 January, 1943, on orders to Mobilize. The Company arrived in Algiers on 9th March, 1943, and throughout the North African Campaign, carried out Port duties at Algiers - Bone - Phillipville, Sousse & La Goulette, arriving in ITALY, on 27th October, 1943. During the above period he has been Chief Clerk throughout. His keeness and devotion to duty has done much to ensure the smooth and efficient working of the unit. At all times he has sacrificed leisure and personal conveniences in the interest of his work and that of the Company. When the Company was on the move he always carried out instructions fully, so that there was no delay when arriving at a new Port to commence opertions.Recommended for periodical BEM, awarded MID.Maj W C Baglin 182 Pro Coy (Ports).
