Decoration Record:
Decoration: Member of the British Empire (London Gazette: 37442 Page: 624 Jan. 24, 1946)
Citation: North West Europe. Citation for MBE: This officer is APM, Special Investigation Branch, 21 Army Group, and has been in charge of all the Investigation Sections in 21 Army Group during the whole campaign. I consider that Major Pollard is out-standing. In civil life he is in the CID Metropolitan Police and is a first rate policeman and investigator. He has been connected in many cases of crime in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany and has brought to light a great number of cases, some of considerable size and importance, the result of which has saved the country a huge sum of money. He is most conscientious and combines energy with enthusiasm and fairness with sympathy. The SIB, under Major Pollard, has done magnificent work and has been the cause for much comment. I cannot speak too highly of this officer and feel strongly that he deserves recognition.Brig Cheney Provost Marshal. Maj Gen DAG HQ 21 Army Group. National Archive WO 373/86.
