Citation: North West Europe. Citation for MC: As OC Provost Company since 31 Jul 44 to the end of the campaign this officer has shown a very high standard of gallantry and devotion to duty. He has supervised the marking of the Divisional axis. Closely following the advancing infantry; often exposed to intense and sustained enemy fire. His imperturbable cheerfulness and courage has always resulted in the successful routing forward of the Division despite the continuous hazards and extremely trying conditions under which he has had to work. His fine personal example has been an inspiration to all members of the Division who have come to look upon him as an institution and symbol of courage in the forward areas. Maj APM 3 Inf Div.
