Assize Sentences for Bigamy.
Joseph Furr a private in the Corps of Military Police committed from Brecon Borough, pleaded guilty at Brecon Assizes on Friday to bigamously marrying in the name of Lovell Miss Annie Winifred Mason, a member of the ATS in March, 1943.
An officer from Furr's unit gave him an excellent character.
Sentencing Furr to six months' imprisonment, Mr Justice Lawrence said that but for his Army record he would have passed a heavier sentence.
