| Citation: | Italy. Citation for MBE: Captain Ingham, as Officer Commanding 105 (Army) Provost Company in Italy from 1 May 44 to 31 Aug 44, and previously as second in command throughout the Desert and Sicilian campaigns, has rendered valuable service to the Corps of Military Police. This officer has been responsible for the general disciplinary duties, the route signing and policing of TAC, Main, and Rear Army Headquarters, and throughout the forward Army area. As Commander of the leading Military Police Company it has always been his especial task to establish close liaison through AMG with all civil authorities and in particular the Carabinieri. These important duties have always been successfully handled by Captain Ingham, and many difficulties have been overcome on account of the personal touch he has maintained throughout. By his untiring efforts for Provost, Captain Ingham has made a very substantial contribution towards the successful Military Police arrangements so necessary during the advance of the Eighth Army from Cassino.Lt Col J R Archer-Burton DPM Eighth Army.
