Citation: North West Europe. Gloucestershire Regt. From Upton St Leonards Glos. APM 11 L of C 21st Army Group (Brussels). Citation for MBE: In every way the best APM that I have come across during my service. Always correct and tactful, he has the highest possible sense of duty from which nothing can move him. He knows his job from beginning to end, is intensely loyal and hard working. During the last four months and indeed since the formation of these Headquarter he has been responsible for discipline and traffic control far beyond the normal of an L of C Area, and has performed every task to my entire satisfaction. The unceasing devotion to duty and unremitting zeal displayed by this officer have been throughout of a very high order, and his inspiring example has been a marked contribution to provost work on the L of C.Brig Comd 11 L of C Area.
