August 1965 to 31 January 1969.Citation: Warrant Officer Class I ALLEN STANLEY GIBBS, Royal Military Police, has been the Regimental Sergeant Major of the British Army Support Unit at Headquarters Allied Forces Central Europe since August , 1965. He has filled this post with marked success, displaying in this international environment a high degree of professional competence which has brought nothing but credit upon the British Army. He has been responsible for the organisation of numerous international parades and honour guards whilst serving at this Headquarters. The organisaition of these parades and guards composed of officers an men of the Allied Nations serving at Allied Forces Central Europe Headquarters has called for considerable tact and diplomacy. By displaying a rare combination of these qualities associated with his own hish standard of military bearing and discipline he has achieved results which have brought nothing but credit upon or country in general and the British army in particular. his untiring efforts both on an off duty to enhance the name of the British army have frequently been commended by the officers of other nations serving at this Headquarters. With these qualities which he has consistantly displayed together with his cheerfulness and imperturbability in his approach to the most daunting problems he has proved an excellent ambassador for the Army and his country.
