Citation: Cyprus. Sgt McGAW in the last two years, has been NCO I/C minor investigations, anti vice activities in Nicosia. During this time he has so managed his investigation NCO's with such efficiency that out of 115 cases investigated of which the majority have been major investigations, involving many hours of work, 103 have been positive, leading to conviction by Courts Martial or summary trial. His section have recovered property to the total value of £4,171.0 0d. 2. He has devoted himself to his work and throughout has averaged over 100 hours work per week. He has carried out normal night provost duties and in excess of this, he has spent several evenings weekly on anti vice investigations and observations regardless of weather conditions or personal desires. 3. He has given valuable assistance to the CYPRUS POLICE FORCE and often his work and clear sightedness has led to convictions of civilians involved in crimes of indecency which could have had ill effects upon service personnel. 4. Throughout his two years with the Company he has shown unceasing devotion to duty with unquestionable loyalty not only to the service, but to his subordinates. He has exercised infinite patience with NCO's placed under instruction from time to time, and given up a great number of what would have been leisure hours, in guiding such NCO's in report writing and investigations. 5. Sgt CcGAW has so earned the respect of Unit Commanders in Central Area, that his name has become a bye word with Commanding Officers who often ask his advice in putting down petty crime in their units. 6.
