Citation: | New Year Honour. Major Kenneth Maldwyn Ellis (406596) Corps of Royal Military Police, 2 Port Task Force Provost Company, Territorial Army.Citation: For conspicuous devotion to duty and the cause of the Territorial Army over a long period. Major Ellis first joined the Territorial Army in 1932 and served it up to the outbreak of War. Following his Wartime service he returned to the Territorial Army in 1948 and has continued in it ever since. As a direct result of his infectious enthusiasm, energy and initiative his unit has nearly doubled its strength in the past year, also winning the Cash recruiting trophy against all other units in Warwickshire in 1958. He has furthermore raised his present unit to a high standard of efficiency and morale, as a result of which it evoked special praise from general officers visiting the formation on a major exercise at Annual Camp. His personal example and the standards he has instilled in his unit are recognised and acknowledged throughout 2 Port Task Force of which his unit has come to form a most valuable part.Recommended by: Col. F H Lowman, Commander 2 Port Task Force, GOC 50 (Northumberland)Infantry Division. |
